On Thursday September 15, 2011 in Houston Texas, home health care nurses from across the country were in attendance for Axxess’ OASIS training seminar. The theme of the training was, “Improve Patient Outcomes, Maximize Reimbursement”.
Proper collection and documentation of OASIS (Outcome and Assessment Information Set) data remains a challenge for most home health agencies. This unique training seminar provided participants with practical knowledge to improve compliance with Medicare guidelines, learn OASIS updates and regulatory changes, document for success, improve comprehension and accuracy in OASIS data collection, improve patient outcomes and maximize reimbursement. With increased regulatory audits and reimbursement cutbacks, the stakes have never been higher for home health agencies.
Participants in the one-day seminar were able to witness the impact on reimbursement of proper and accurate collection of OASIS data from real simulations via a . Different scenarios were reviewed and participants were educated on strategies to maximize reimbursements while improving patient outcomes.
