In 2001, John Olajide, President and CEO of , was enrolled as a telecommunications engineering student at the University of Texas in Dallas. During a visit with a family friend who was working as director of nursing at a local home healthcare agency at the time, Olajide noticed multiple un-networked computers and dated technology.
